On 7/1/14 my partner and I began our Purium cleanse.
I was hesitant for many reasons for months before starting, but after researching, as far as cleanses go, this seemed like the best.
I weighed in at 179 whopping pounds.
My main addiction is to flavored drinks, mostly ginger ale.
This cleanse is mostly to get rid of the toxins in your body that most food in our society has in it from man made additives, and to reset you with all the nutrients your body needs to be healthy, breaking bad food addictions and helping you to crave what you need to be healthy. The weight loss is supposed to be a nice side effect.
I did okay on the first day, yesterday, for the most part. I felt a little sluggish and sore toward the end of the day. Off and on I had that empty stomach feeling. I craved some old faves like coffee with sugar and almond milk and pizza. Seeing some fast food billboards as we drove down the highway was a bit trying. I felt somewhat irritable, but nothing too extreme.
We did a 30 minute yoga session after having our first set of aminos and water. It seemed to help.
We took an early evening stroll with the animals and it wore me out.
I totalled 955 calories for the day with my chosen flex foods and the calories from the Purium shakes and elixirs.
I feel good about the cleanse because all of the powders and liquids are all natural, organic, and vegan.
I must express that I'm not too impressed with this on call doctor who works with Purium, at the moment. He gave my partner a bit of a scare by saying that the cherry apothe could interact with anti depressants. I think "interaction"was a poor choice of words. My partner did tireless research to try to figure out what the interaction could be, and the closest we found was that it may lessen the affect of SSRIs. But this doctor would never give my partner a straight answer, and I feel like maybe he spoke before he thought or researched it. I'm not sure, but my partner was very worried, and all they got were these 3-4 word sentence answers that danced around the questions and were very vague. This naturopath doctor is supposed to be on call for assessments and consultations, and I am just not impressed with him so far. I think he may not know much about pharmaceuticals, but in our society where a lot of people who may do this cleanse are on anti depressants, I really think the doctor for this program needs to very aware of both natural medicine and modern medicine. Perhaps they could hire a second doctor or nurse to help bridge that gap... The doctor did reply promptly to the emails we sent, but the answers were just frustrating and a bit of a disappointment. At this point though, I don't think the way they have it set up with the one naturopath doctor makes for a strong selling point if I were to want to promote the cleanse like they want us to... We kind of don't feel like trying to use this doctor for help anymore for the cleanse...
In the end, I helped my partner worry less, and they took their meds and the cherry apothe, and they were just fine, as was I.
